As a next step in our growth strategy, Soleras Advanced Coatings wants to significantly expand production capabilities and capacity for sprayed rotatable targets in the US. A multimillion-USD investment has been approved to enable Soleras Advanced Coatings to produce the full Soleras portfolio of sprayed rotatable targets at the Biddeford Maine Facility starting January 2024. Following market demand, this investment will enable the Biddeford Facility to manufacture all Si, Zn and Ag alloys as well as the more advanced ceramic targets like TiOx, ZnSnOx, ZrOx and NiOx alloys.
Soleras Advanced Coatings is the global leader in custom engineered sputtering equipment and best in class target materials for a wide application field. As the market leader in large area sputter targets, Soleras Advanced Coatings has production units in Deinze (Belgium), Biddeford ME (US) and Jiangyin (China). The new production equipment will be operational starting January 2024, a process qualification for all sputter target materials will be put in place to ensure the highest level of quality.
“This is an important milestone in the growth of Soleras in the US.”, said Mr. Ivan Van de Putte, Chief Executive of Soleras Advanced Coatings.” To realize our growth strategy and to take maximum advantage of our worldwide in-house know-how, we have decided to invest heavily in our Biddeford ME plant.
